"Nanoparticles - From Chemistry to Chemical Engineering "

Synthesis and application of magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) has attracted enormous attention with more than 6000 articles published in recent years, and various synthetic approaches and applications of such NPs have been suggested. Such nanoparticles are of interest because their reduced dimensions induce properties that are significantly different from those of bulk materials. In this talk we review synthetic methods developed in our group for metallic and metal oxide nanoparticles. Finally we present surprising and unexpected results where the stirring rate affects the size, morphology and stability of iron nanoparticles.
